Pool Filtration
What do you need to know?
Pool
filters work by drawing water from the pool through outlets
called the skimmers or drains. The water passes through a
strainer basket which catches larger debris, then into a chamber
containing a filtration medium which removes smaller particles
before being pumped back into the pool.
How often does this occur? - The pool turnover rate depends on
the shape and size of the pool, the volume of the water and how
often it is used.
Timers are usually added which operate the filter automatically
which helps to keep the water in prime condition. There are
other accessories available which also aide pool filtration, such
as Skimmer socks, Multi-cyclone units etc. and of course various
flocculants.
